Contra Privacy Summary

Contra checks your identity through Persona and keeps sensitive data for as long as it is reasonably necessary, which the policy does not define. The one thing to know: the policy lists biometric information as sensitive but does not say what is collected, so ask in writing before you upload an ID. [1] [2]

The one thing to know: ask what the ID check collects

The privacy policy lists “biometric information” as sensitive data, collected through third-party verification providers, but it does not say what biometric data is collected. Contra’s help pages do not say whether a selfie is taken either. Before you upload, ask support in writing what the check collects and how long it is kept. [1] [2]

Identity checks: what you hand over

Persona runs the identity check. You choose the country that issued your ID, not the country you live in, and a bank account outside that country is connected through Airwallex. The help pages do not list accepted documents by country or a review time. [2] [3]

AI and your data

The privacy policy names OpenRouter as a provider of AI services. The policy does not say whether your messages or project files are used to train AI models, so ask before you upload confidential client work. [1]

How to delete your data

The policy gives no fixed retention period, and Contra’s help pages give no deletion steps. Write to support asking for deletion of your identity documents and account data, and keep a copy of the request. Ask for written confirmation of what is kept after deletion, such as records needed for payouts or disputes. [1] [2]

The verdict

Contra’s privacy terms are general. They name the vendors involved but not the retention periods or the biometric data, so the policy does not answer the questions most people ask before uploading an ID. Verify only once you need a payout, and get the answers in writing first. [1] [2]
