Freelance services marketplace · Reviews guide
Small, clear Fiverr jobs usually go well, but the one-star reviews cluster around suspensions, held money and unreachable support. Read reviews for jobs like yours, and treat a near-perfect seller score as a weak signal. [1] [5] [3]

| Apple App Store | 4.9 / 5 | about 575,000 | How the app works, not how jobs turn out[5] |
| Trustpilot | 3.4 / 5 | 16,248 | Buyers and sellers: 50% five-star, 35% one-star[1] |
| PissedConsumer | 1.9 / 5 | 312 | Mostly people with a problem; 16% would recommend[6] |
| Sitejabber (via SmartCustomer) | 1.8 / 5 | 1,136 | Mostly complaints; 79% one-star[7] |
| BBB | 1.02 / 5 | 59 | Complaints site; 563 complaints in three years (Fiverr still holds an A+ grade, which rates complaint handling)[8] [9] |
Fiverr's reviews swing from 4.9 to 1 depending on where you look, but they tell one consistent story. Small, clearly defined jobs usually go fine. When something goes wrong (a locked account, an order never delivered, money held), Fiverr's support often doesn't fix it, and those cases can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. [5] [1] [6] [7] [8]
Each site attracts different people. App Store ratings judge the app, which is quick and easy to use, so it scores 4.9. Complaint sites attract people who had a problem, so they score below 2. Trustpilot gets both, and it shows: half its reviewers give five stars, a third give one, and only 15% land in between. Experiences on Fiverr tend to be fine or bad, rarely mediocre. [5] [6] [7] [1]
Of 20 recent five-star reviews on Trustpilot, 15 were praise with no "but": reach, ease, fast turnaround and repeat clients. Buyers are happiest with jobs they can describe in a sentence: a logo, a short edit, a file conversion. Sellers who stick with it describe steady repeat customers; one with about 1,500 clients says Fiverr let them leave a job. Even so, five of the twenty happy reviewers mentioned high fees, slower sales or weak support. [2]
Recent one-star reviews keep coming back to the same few problems, and each one costs money or access, not just patience: [3] [4] [9]
| Problem | Who it hits | How often (one-star sample, Oct–Nov 2026) | How bad it gets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paid but nothing delivered, or scammed | Buyers | about 12 of 56 reviewers | A $2,700 website never delivered |
| Account suspended or banned | Sellers | about 11 of 56 | Often no appeal or explanation |
| Stuck in verification | Both | about 8 of 56 | Still locked after ID was approved |
| Support doesn't help | Both | about 25 of 60 | Template replies, tickets open 4–10 days |
| Earnings held | Sellers | 6–7 people across 4 sites, 2023–2026 | 150 to 400 days without access [3] [4] [9] |
The worst buyer losses follow one pattern: moving payment off Fiverr. One buyer paid $1,000 over WhatsApp and the freelancer disappeared. Once money leaves Fiverr, the platform can't help you get it back. [6] [3]
Most sellers show ratings close to five stars. That's partly because cancelled orders can't be reviewed, so many of the jobs that went badly never show up. A near-perfect score tells you less than it seems. [10]
Look for reviews of jobs like yours, not the seller's overall score. Check whether reviewers mention revisions or delays, and read the most recent reviews first, because sellers change. Walk away from any seller who wants to talk or pay on WhatsApp, email or PayPal: that's where the biggest losses on Fiverr happen.
