Alignable Alternatives

For a local referral room, Alignable’s Member plan costs $348 a year, below BNI’s $800 to $1,400 estimate. Choose BNI if you will attend weekly, a chamber if cost matters most, and LinkedIn if you want a profile people can find. [1] [7]

Why people look beyond Alignable

The complaints that push people elsewhere are cost and billing. Plans run $29 to $89 a month, and reviewers report charges after cancelling. A few reviewers say LinkedIn is free and better, though those are opinions from reviews dated 2019 to 2025. [3] [4]

The local groups below charge yearly fees, and BNI asks for weekly attendance. So the choice depends on whether you want a fixed weekly room or a looser network you can dip into. [7]

BNI is the choice only if you will show up every week

BNI’s membership page lists no fee. It says members meet weekly and exchange referrals, and it reports 17.8 million member referrals in the 12 months to 31 December 2025. That referral figure is BNI’s own. [6]

One April 2026 guide puts BNI at $800 to $1,400 a year and 3 to 5 hours a week. If you will not attend every week, Member at $29 a month comes to $348 over a year, well below the guide’s BNI figure. [7] [2]

A chamber is the cheapest local option on one guide’s list, and LeTip the dearest

The same guide lists LeTip at $900 to $1,200 a year and a chamber of commerce at $250 to $600 a year. Those are one guide’s figures, so ask each group for its current fee before you budget. [7]

One 2026 reviewer says Alignable’s conversations beat chamber mixers, so the choice comes down to price against that one account. [5]

LinkedIn is free to join, and Paperbell suggests it for most coaches

Paperbell, a coaching business, suggests LinkedIn or a personal website for most coaches. Its advice is aimed at coaches whose clients are local business owners, so it is less useful for other trades. [1]

A February 2023 comparison from a social-media agency says most of Alignable’s free features also exist on LinkedIn and Facebook, and that a nationwide seller needs the top tier to reach businesses across Canada and the US. It is promotional, so use it for the shape of the choice, not for prices. [8]

Omnitwine is free, and it connects you with the other side of a deal

Omnitwine is not a payment service. You tell its AI what you’re looking for (a client, a supplier or a partner for a project you have now), and it builds a profile from your conversations with it. It connects you with the members on the other side who fit, each with a reason. Signed-in members can also browse its member directory, which lists every member's name, email and LinkedIn. Both of you decide whether to connect, and you deal directly. It is free to use. [9] [11] [10]

Use it when you need a counterpart for a defined job, such as a supplier for one order or a client for one contract. It does not verify identity or skills, and it does not guarantee a match, reply or referral. Every member’s name, email and LinkedIn is visible to other signed-in members before any connection, so share only what you are comfortable with. If you’re worried about payment, we recommend using an escrow service. [10] [9]

How to choose

For a monthly referral room in your town, start with Alignable’s free plan for one month and count the conversations you get. If those conversations are worth more than $29 a month to you, move to Member. If you will commit to a weekly room, price BNI against LeTip. If cost matters most, ask your chamber for its fee. If you mainly want a profile people can find, use LinkedIn. And if the hard part is finding a client, supplier or partner for one specific job, try Omnitwine, which is free.
