Alignable Privacy Summary

The privacy risk on Alignable is your contact list: members have reported invitations and emails sent in their names, including after deletion. Closing an account can also require an identity check. Import only the people you would email yourself, cancel any paid plan first, and keep proof of each step. [3] [5] [2]

Your contact list is the privacy risk to manage

Contacts you import can receive invitations in your name. More than 20 people report emails sent in their names across the one-star pages, from July 2025 into 2026, and some say the emails continued after they deleted their accounts. [3]

The company says members choose which contacts to invite, and that invitations are optional. Reviewers’ accounts do not match that, which is why the safe default is to import only the people you would email yourself. [7] [3]

A privacy policy does not stop a mis-tap

Alignable’s privacy policy, last updated 12 August 2026, says it does not sell personal information without consent, and it sets out a process for deleting data. Those are the promises to hold it to. [1]

The contact-list incidents happened anyway. A member who tapped Skip by mistake during onboarding had a whole contact list invited in February 2024, and another reported a security alert after signing up through contact-based invites in February 2025. [7] [4]

Identity checks when you leave

Four one- and two-star reviewers describe an identity check when they tried to close an account or delete data, including a 2026 request held until ID was checked. The company says ID is required for data deletion. [5]

How to delete your account without losing track of a charge

  1. Cancel the paid plan in My Membership, then Cancel Benefits. Paid benefits run to the end of the billing period, and permanent deletion needs any paid membership cancelled first.
  2. Turn off invitation emails in account settings. One member reports that a global unsubscribe did not stop them, so check that the emails have stopped.
  3. Have a photo ID ready when you request deletion, because the company says ID is required.
  4. Keep the cancellation confirmation and any billing email until no further charge appears. [2] [5] [3]

The verdict: import less, and keep proof

The documented problems are about your contacts and your exit. Import only the people you would email yourself, cancel any paid plan first, and keep ID and billing records ready before you leave.
