AI introductions · Alternatives guide

Boardy AI Alternatives

Boardy has the thinnest public record of these four. Happenstance suits people who want to search, and Articuler suits those who accept an unproven pool size. [1] [5] [7]

Why people look elsewhere

People look for another tool for one of three reasons. They want to search for a person rather than wait for an introduction, they want a price they can read on one page, or they want to choose who they meet. Boardy does the first two poorly: its paid terms are split across the Terms and third-party coverage, and users cannot search the network. [3] [2] [4]

Happenstance, if you want to search instead of wait

Happenstance has a free plan with Chat and usage limits, and it does not publish the number of Chat messages you get. Its Pro plan is $24 a month billed yearly, or $288 a year, and it adds unlimited Chat and CSV export of people from Chat. [5]

Check the monthly price before you pay. The pricing page shows only the yearly-billed price, and the App Store lists $29.99 a month or $289.99 a year. Choose Happenstance if you want to find people yourself and export a list. Boardy is better if you want someone to start the conversation for you. [5] [6]

Articuler, if you accept a large claimed pool

Articuler charges $25 a month for Pro on the US App Store, and its subscription terms list $240 a year. A one-off event pass costs $15 and does not renew. Its home page says it matches across 980 million-plus professional profiles, which is the company’s own figure with no published method. [7] [8]

Articuler’s annual option appears only in subscription terms, not in the in-app purchase list, so confirm it at checkout. Pick it if a large pool matters more to you than knowing how the matches were made. [7]

Omnitwine, if you want to pick a co-founder, investor or first customer

Omnitwine is an AI-assisted professional discovery network for eligible members. You tell its AI what you want, such as a co-founder, an investment, a first customer or an adviser, and it suggests the members on the other side who fit, each with a reason it suits both of you. Signed-in members can also browse its member directory, which lists every member's name, email and LinkedIn. Both people decide whether to connect, and you deal with each other directly. [9] [10] [11]

It is free to use, and it takes no cut from either side. It is not a marketplace, job board or payment service, and it doesn’t verify identity or skills. Every member’s name, email and LinkedIn is visible to other signed-in members before any connection, and AI training is off by default. If you are worried about payment, we recommend using an escrow service. [9] [10]

How to choose

Choose Boardy if you will talk to an AI about your goals and want introductions brought to you. Choose Happenstance if you want to search and export. Choose Articuler only after you confirm its annual price and accept that its pool size is unproven. Choose Omnitwine if you want to pick a co-founder, investor, first customer or adviser from members who fit, pay nothing, and accept that its network is young and depends on who has joined.
