Happenstance Pricing

Stay on the free Happenstance plan until its Chat cap stops you, which the company never states as a number. If you do pay, buy Pro on the web on the yearly plan: $288 a year, against $359.88 for monthly billing in the iPhone app. Pay for Pro only if you search most weeks. [1] [2] [3]

Is free Happenstance good enough?

Judge the free plan by what it lets you finish. It includes Chat with a usage cap, plus unlimited connected accounts, friends and groups, and it needs no card. If you run a few searches a week and pick people to contact from the results, free is enough. [1]

Run one real test before you pay. Ask a question you need answered, such as people you know who work in payments in Berlin, and keep asking follow-ups until Chat stops answering. If the cap stops you within a week and those searches would take you hours by hand, Pro at $24 a month is the cheaper choice. If you finish in one sitting and never come back, stay on free. [1] [8]

Pay for Pro yearly on the web, not monthly in the app

Pro costs $24 a month billed yearly on the web, which is $288 a year. The iPhone app charges $29.99 a month or $289.99 a year. Paying monthly in the app comes to $359.88 a year, which is $71.88 more than the web yearly plan. The App Store page does not say whether the app includes every web Pro feature. [1] [3]

The web monthly price is the open number. The pricing page shows no monthly figure, but the company's About and comparison pages say $30 a month. At $30, a year of monthly billing costs $360, which is $72 more than the yearly plan. Check the monthly amount at checkout before you choose month to month. [1] [9] [8]

Renewals are automatic, and the current period is not refunded

Subscriptions renew automatically. Cancelling stops the next renewal, but the current period is not refunded, and access runs to the end of that period. Paid fees are non-refundable except where the law requires, or case by case at the company's discretion. [4]

The company may change fees at the end of a period after what it calls reasonable prior notice. It does not define reasonable in days, and continuing to use the service counts as accepting the change. [4]

API credits are a separate bill with no published dollar price

The API and MCP use their own credit balance. A search costs 2 credits, a completed research costs 1, and a Chat turn usually costs 1 to 3. At 2 credits a search, 50 searches use 100 credits. The company publishes no price per credit or credit-pack price, so those 100 credits could cost $5 or $50, and public pages cannot tell you which. [5] [6]

A Chat call returns a 402 error when the balance falls below 3 credits, so a low balance stops the call. Credit fields became decimals on 14 October 2026, so a client that reads whole numbers needs an update. [7] [6]

The rivals bill per seat or per company, and one yearly price does not add up

Juicebox prices per seat. Its Starter plan is $119 a month or $99 a month billed yearly, and its free tier includes limited searches and 5 one-off contact credits. [10]

The Swarm's Premium plan is $99 per company a month, but its $2,990 yearly price is $1,802 more than twelve monthly payments of $99 ($1,188), even though the page labels the yearly option as saving 20%. Ask before you buy yearly. [11]

LinkedIn Sales Navigator Core costs $119.99 a month or $1,079.88 a year, which is $89.99 a month billed yearly. It searches LinkedIn, not your email, calendar or contacts, so it does a different job from Happenstance. See the alternatives for how the three compare by workflow. [12] [8]
