Lunchclub appears to be retired, so treat these free guides as reference for an account you already have, not as a reason to sign up. The Rivet School help page is the best setup guide. The other three cover call timing and match preparation, and none of them shows that the service is running today. [1] [2]

Lunchclub appears to be retired. Its latest App Store release is dated 3 Mar 2022, and the status page lists the dated signals behind that verdict. The setup steps below may no longer match the app, and this page is kept for reference. [1] [6] [7]
The Lunchclub help page on Rivet School's Career Central site is the most complete setup guide here. It takes you through seven steps: signing up with Google, writing a profile and conversation starters, connecting a Google calendar, answering the matching questions, and turning on email alerts for calls. The page was last modified on 8 Sep 2026, which does not show that the steps were updated for a working Lunchclub. [2]
Use it to set up an account you already have, or to rebuild a profile. It explains what to click, but it says nothing about whether the service still makes matches. It also does not say what the service costs, so check the pricing page before you assume it is free. [2]
The consulting firm's post on using Lunchclub for business relationships gives the most specific timing advice here. Book executives into 9 am slots, and use 7 pm or weekends to avoid people's working hours. Keep first calls near 30 minutes, then follow up on LinkedIn. [3]
The post is undated, and its footer shows only the year 2026. Treat the timing as one firm's habit, not a platform rule. The post also repeatedly asks readers to book a free consultation with the firm, so judge the tips on their merits and skip the sales pitch. [3]
A personal review of the service from 18 Feb 2024 is the only full walkthrough here. The review describes submitting a LinkedIn profile and waiting for approval, writing a bio, choosing available times, and then taking a one-hour video match. The author says the service was free. [4]
The review and Penn's guide give different call lengths: one hour in the review, 45 minutes on Penn's page. Block the longer hour. The review also shares its author's personal invite code, which is a referral link, so read its recommendation with that in mind. [4] [5]
Penn Career Services' LunchClub page gives the most practical preparation steps: read up on the person before the call, prepare your questions, and share a bit of your own experience. These steps apply to any short professional call, not only to Lunchclub's. [5]
Only people with Penn access can use the platform. The page sends you through a Penn invite code and a Penn community ID, so anyone else can take the advice but not the service. [5]
Read the status page before you spend an evening on setup. The App Store's latest version dates from 3 Mar 2022, and the newest guide here is from September 2026. A guide's date shows when it was written, not whether the service still matches people. [1] [2]
If sign-in fails, compare other services on the alternatives page instead.
