Professional introductions ยท Alternatives guide
For a former Lunchclub user who wants AI-picked one-to-one meetings, Boardy is the closest fit: its introductions are free to start, but its daily caps have no published number. Pause fits only London, Omnitwine suits one connection you need for current work rather than a standing call, and CoffeeSpace is built for cofounders. [1] [2] [7] [8]
Add Omnitwine as a preferred source on Google| Rank | Platform | Best for | Price as read | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Boardy | Introductions set up for you, booked on your calendar | Free to start; extras not priced | Daily caps with no published number[7] |
| 2 | Pause | Weekly one-to-one coffee match | No price in the 27 Aug 2026 post | London only; new, no track record[9] |
| 3 | Omnitwine | Members matched to one connection you need for current work | Free | No standing calls; a young network[12] [11] |
| 4 | Articuler | AI matches and outreach drafts for a target list | Pro $25 a month (US App Store); $15 one-event pass | Free-plan limits differ between reviews; reply rates are the company's claim[14] [15] [16] |
| 5 | Happenstance Pro | Warm-intro paths across your own contacts | $24 a month billed yearly; $288 a year | Needs access to Gmail, Calendar, LinkedIn and X[8] |
| 6 | CoffeeSpace | Finding a cofounder | Free to start; Premium Class $24.99 a month | Built for cofounders, not general one-to-one meetings[18] [19] |
Lunchclub appears to be retired. Its latest App Store release is dated 3 Mar 2022, and the status page lists the dated signals behind that verdict. The ranking below is the order to use now, and this page is kept for reference. [1] [21] [22]
Lunchclub began in 2019 as warm introductions by email for one-to-one lunches or coffees, across seven cities. By 2020 it booked video calls, and the CEO cited "tens of thousands of meetings" a week in July 2020, a figure the company supplied itself. [3] [4]
The complaints stayed the same across years. Five of 25 user reports describe a no-show or late cancellation between 2020 and 2023, and three say support did not reply or was slow. The newest Trustpilot review is from February 2024, and the App Store version has not changed since 3 March 2022. [5] [6] [1] [2]
Boardy is free to start, and its FAQ says talking to Boardy and getting introductions is free. Some extras are paid, such as the partner model for events, and no price is given for them. [7]
The FAQ caps new introductions per day and per person and gives no numbers. Its homepage, a company claim, says introductions happen only after both sides opt in and that meetings are booked through Google Calendar. Make one real request before you rely on it. [7]
Pause is a weekly, curated one-to-one coffee match for London professionals. It was posted as a Show HN project on 27 August 2026, and the post gives no price. [9]
One commenter on that thread says they used Lunchclub with "some good and bad connection." The comment does not say whether Lunchclub still runs. [10]
A new project has no track record yet. Treat it as a test: book two or three coffees and count how many you would repeat.
Omnitwine is free and takes no cut. Its AI assists discovery among eligible Omnitwine members: you tell it the connection you need for what you're working on now, such as a partner, a supplier or a client, and it suggests members on the other side who fit, each with a reason it suits both of you. Signed-in members can also browse the member directory, which lists every member's name, email and LinkedIn. Both people decide whether to connect. [11] [12] [13]
Omnitwine is not a marketplace, job board or payment service, and it does not verify identity or skills. It is a young network, so who you can meet depends on who has joined. Every member's name, email and LinkedIn is visible to other signed-in members before any connection. If you're worried about payment, we recommend using an escrow service. [11] [13]
It does not book a standing call. If the Lunchclub habit was a meeting every week, Omnitwine is the wrong tool. [12]
Articuler sells AI matches and outreach drafts to professionals. Its US App Store listing shows Pro at $25 a month, with a $240 annual option that appears only in the subscription terms, and a $15 one-event pass. [14] [15]
The AI Way's May 2026 review lists the free plan as 3 Directory Match credits a day, 1 Playbook credit a month and 20 contacts. Dynamic Business (June 2026) also lists 15 monthly event-match credits, which The AI Way does not mention, so count your own credits before you pay. Its 15% matched reply rate is the company's claim. [16] [17] [15]
Happenstance Pro is $24 per month, billed yearly. Billed once a year, that is $288. The pricing page shows no monthly Pro price beside the monthly toggle. [8]
Its homepage says it searches your connected Gmail, Calendar, LinkedIn and X accounts to rank people and suggest warm-introduction paths. Choose Happenstance if you want a search across people you already know and you are comfortable connecting those accounts. If that access bothers you, skip it. [8]
CoffeeSpace is free to start, but Premium Class costs $24.99 a month, or $74.99 for six months, on its App Store listing. Its matching is for cofounders, and its talent network is invite-only in beta. [18] [19] [20]
Choose it only if the person you want to meet is a potential cofounder.
Boardy is the closest match. Its introductions are free to start, and its homepage describes booking meetings on your calendar. Make one request to see whether its caps bite. Pause is the better test if you live in London. Choose Omnitwine when you need one specific connection for current work. Use Articuler only if you will pay to test outreach, and use Happenstance or CoffeeSpace for narrower goals. [7] [9] [12] [14]
