Lunchclub Reviews

Lunchclub appears to be retired. Its App Store version has not changed since 3 Mar 2022, and its newest Trustpilot review is from Feb 2024. The ratings, 4.0 from 70 App Store ratings and 3.3 from four Trustpilot reviews, come from too few people and too old a period to judge what you would get today. [1] [3]

The ratings are thin, and the newest ones are from 2024

Lunchclub appears to be retired. Its latest App Store release is dated 3 Mar 2022, and the status page lists the dated signals behind that verdict. The ratings below are the last ones on record, and this page is kept for reference. [1] [6] [5]

The App Store lists version 2.3.8 as the latest, dated 3 Mar 2022, with the release note "Bug fixes." The newest Trustpilot review is dated 6 Feb 2024. On 5 Nov 2026, lunchclub.com loaded only a page title, so the company's own status cannot be read from its site. [1] [3] [5]

Fortune reported in November 2025 that the founders moved into Lighter, a perpetual futures exchange, and that about 80% of the team went with them. The article does not say whether the networking service was shut down. A commenter on the August 2026 Show HN: Pause thread says they used Lunchclub with mixed results, but gives no status. Why the scores disagree, and why to discount them

Trustpilot's text gives a TrustScore of 3.3 from four reviews, but its star graphic shows 3.5. Trustpilot's own notice says the company has not invited its customers, so the reviews may not be representative. [3]

The App Store average of 4.0 comes from 70 ratings, and the page shows no star split. Product Hunt's 3.0 comes from four reviews dated only as about 2 to 4 years ago, so none of them can be placed on a timeline. [1] [4]

Good meetings happened, in 9 of 25 user reports

Nine of the 25 user reports cited in this guide describe a useful or enjoyable meeting, dated 2020 to 2024 or given as relative ages. One App Store reviewer with more than 50 meetings said in January 2022 that they met a leadership coach and close friends. A December 2022 reviewer with about 200 conversations praised the platform, even though the iPad app had problems. [2] [4]

The most detailed positive account is a personal review from February 2024. It says one-hour calls were scheduled after profile approval and that the author met many senior people in the first month. The review carries a referral link the author received, so weigh its praise with that in mind. A 2020 blog author who ran seven weekly 45-minute calls reported that two of the matches led to ongoing contact. [9] [10]

A replier in a 2020 Blind thread said meetings lasted 30 to 45 minutes, with agendas built from profiles, and that they met senior people at large companies. The original poster called the experience "hit or miss," so the outcome depended on the match. [11]

Unhappy reviewers point to no-shows and silence

The most common complaint is a match who did not show. Five of the 25 user reports describe a no-show or a late cancellation, all from 2020 to 2023. One Blind poster said a match stopped responding after a confirmed time and cancelled about 15 minutes before the call, with no reason given. [11] [10] [2] [3] [12]

Three of the 25 reports say support did not reply or was slow. Two are dated 2023 and one is a Product Hunt reviewer's relative date of about two years. Three of the 25 say you cannot choose who you meet. All three are Product Hunt reviews, and two of them say the location filter was removed. [2] [3] [4]

Sign-in failed for one reviewer in February 2023, after repeated requests for a code. Apple's release notes list log-in fixes in version 2.3.2 (28 Oct 2021) and a Google account connection fix in version 2.3.4 (8 Nov 2021), so that report came after those fixes. [2] [1]

One App Store reviewer, 18 months a member, found recurring meetings they did not know they had joined, and pausing did not stop new matches. Another reviewer's account was closed two days after sign-up because matching found nothing relevant. [2]

Do not take the ratings at face value

Most of the praise predates the problems. The App Store reviews that describe good meetings are from January and December 2022, and the newest Trustpilot praise is from February 2024. A review from 2020 or 2022 tells you what the service was like then, not what it does now. [2] [3]

How to read these reviews before you sign up

The date matters more than the score. Most written reviews on each site are from 2020 to 2024, and Product Hunt shows only relative ages. For a decision today, try to sign in first. If the code never arrives, the reviews have already answered the question. The status page sets out the dated signals, and alternatives lists services you can test now. [2] [3] [4]
