Indie Hackers Features

The free Indie Hackers features do most of the work: the forum, the Products directory and milestone posts. The paid case-study library is the one feature a reviewer rates, and only for founders from pre-revenue to about $5K MRR who will use it. [1] [2]

The case-study library is the only paid feature worth a look

The case-study and idea-report databases are the feature reviewers rate. One reviewer counts more than 600 case studies, with unlimited access, and says that is the reason to subscribe if you are pre-revenue to about $5K MRR. The same reviewer does not say how many case studies a typical reader opens, so measure it yourself in your first month. [1]

Milestone posts pay off most when you have a number

Milestone posts come in five types: Launch, First Customer, MRR Milestone, Press and Other. Two vendor guides say posts with specific numbers get the most useful replies. Neither shows data for that claim, so treat it as a habit to test, not a rule. [2] [3] [4]

The Products directory ranks by revenue, and the method is unexplained

SaaSCity says the directory ranks listings by revenue, but it does not say how. The revenue field is optional, so a listing with no revenue has nothing to rank on. Fill it in only when the number is real. [3] [2]

The Build Board is a leaderboard to watch, not plan around

Only one reviewer names the Build Board, and it is unclear how voting or filters work. Look at it to see who is building, but do not plan a launch around it. For the posting rules that apply to a new account, see how it works. [1]
