Indie Hackers Pricing

IH+ costs $198 a year, billed annually, with no monthly plan listed. The free account covers the forum and listings, but a new account waits before it can post. Pay for IH+ only if you will read its case-study library. [1] [2]

The free account is enough unless you will read the case studies

For reading and feedback, yes. IH+ adds the case-study and idea-report databases, which one reviewer counts at more than 600. That reviewer says they are worth paying for only by pre-revenue founders up to about $5K MRR who will use them, and not for accountability or peers at $10K MRR and above. The reviewer runs a paid founder group of their own, which the review discloses, and did not subscribe to IH+. [1]

Run this test first. Spend two weeks on the free forum and list each case-study topic you wish you could read in full. If you would open at least one a week, the $16.50 monthly equivalent is a fair price for the reading. If you would not, the free forum is enough. [1]

The free account covers most of the forum

The free route. Reading the forum, browsing the Products directory and getting the newsletter cost nothing, and the Build Board leaderboard is free too. The one limit is posting. A free account waits through an anti-spam period before it can post, and no length is stated. [1] [2]

IH+ members post from day one and get a premium founder profile. If you are launching soon, that unknown wait is the real cost of staying free, so sign up before your launch date. [1]

IH+ costs $198 a year, so budget for the full year

IH+ costs $198 a year, billed annually. Divided by 12, that is $16.50 a month, but that is a share of the annual charge, not a monthly plan. Sources list only annual billing. [1] [2]

Two 2026 guides, Where To Submit and Alignify, describe every Indie Hackers feature as free, while two reviews price IH+ at $198 a year. Confirm the plan name and price on the checkout page before you pay. [3] [4] [1]

Refunds are where the price gets tested

IH+ has a 30-day refund window, pro-rated, according to one reviewer, who quotes “no questions asked” but gives no pro-rating formula. A June 2026 Trustpilot review says a buyer of the annual plan asked for a refund after two days and got no reply to four emails or to messages on X and LinkedIn. That is one account, but it is the only refund complaint on these sites. Get the refund terms in writing before you pay, and read the complaints page for the rest. [1] [5]

Rival communities cost more or less, depending on the plan

Bootstrapped Makers charges $19 a month, or $190 a year ($190 ÷ 12 = $15.83 a month), in a currency its pricing page does not name. MicroConf Connect costs $49 a month or $499 a year ($41.58 a month on the annual plan), and it charges only after you are accepted. [6] [7] [2]
