Frequently asked questions
How much does LinkedIn Premium cost?
Premium Career costs $39.99 a month or $239.88 a year, and the annual plan is 50% cheaper than twelve monthly payments. LinkedIn says prices may exclude VAT, GST and promotions, so the checkout total depends on your country. [1]
Does Premium renew automatically, and how do I cancel?
Yes. Paid subscriptions renew at the start of each billing period. Cancel at least one day before the next billing date; it takes effect at the end of the billing cycle. On iOS, cancellation happens outside the LinkedIn app. [4] [5]
How long do I have to ask for a refund?
Seven days from the charge, if you haven't used Premium. EU members get 14 days from when the subscription starts, and Brazilian members get 7 days from the charge. The rules cover personal use only, not purchases made for a business. [6]
Why do reviewers say their refund was refused?
About 7 of 100 Trustpilot reviewers say a refund was refused after cancelling within days. About 3 of those cite use of a Premium feature as the reason, and LinkedIn's published rule doesn't list feature use as a bar, so the reason is contested. [8] [6]
What happens when a free trial ends?
It converts to a paid plan unless you cancel, and cancelling a trial ends your access straight away. LinkedIn doesn't state a trial length, and reviewers report between one week and one month. Three reviewers say no reminder came before a Premium charge, while LinkedIn's Sales Navigator page says it emails seven days before a trial ends. [7] [8] [2]
Does LinkedIn use my data to train AI?
Yes, if you leave the setting on. LinkedIn's privacy policy says it may use member data to develop and train AI models, and its controls page says training is on by default. Private messages and InMail are excluded from the listed categories. [10] [11]
Can I opt out of AI training?
Yes, through the privacy controls. The opt-out applies from when you change it, so it doesn't undo training that already happened. LinkedIn's pages don't say whether the EU has a separate model-training choice. [11] [12]
What happens if my account is restricted or I fail an ID check?
Restrictions fall into four categories, and profile and identity cases go through identity verification. Lockouts, restrictions and stuck ID checks come up in about 38 of 100 Trustpilot reviews, and LinkedIn gives no review time. [13] [9] [18]
What happens to my data after I close my account?
LinkedIn says your data generally stops showing to other members within 24 hours and is generally deleted within 30 days. Messages and group posts may stay visible, and some data is kept longer for legal or security reasons. [10]
Is Premium worth it for a job search?
The evidence is anecdotal. One commenter who paid for about three months during a job search called it a big help, and several commenters say referrals work better than cold applications. [16] [17]
What do Sales Navigator and Recruiter cost?
Sales Navigator Core costs $119.99 a month or $1,079.88 a year, and Advanced costs $159.99 a month or $1,799.88 a year. Recruiter has no published price and is sold per seat, while Recruiter Lite includes 30 InMails per license. [2] [3]
How much does a job post cost, and how is it charged?
A free post stays active for 14 days, pauses, and closes after 30 days if you don't promote it. A promoted post bills every 30 days from the first post, or within 24 hours when the balance reaches $500, and it pauses once your total budget is reached. [14] [15]
