Fiverr for Businesses

Fiverr suits a business buying a small, fixed-scope service. Buyers pay 5.5% plus $3.50 under $200, so a $100 order costs $109. Keep payment on Fiverr, write the brief before you order, and check each delivery inside the 3-day review window. [1] [2] [6]

What Fiverr gives your business

Fiverr gives a business a fast way to buy a fixed-scope service without a tender or a retainer. You choose a gig, pay, send a brief and receive the work. Fiverr holds the payment until the order completes, so the money stays protected while the work is checked. [6]

What it really costs your business

The buyer fee is the real cost, and it lands on every payment. A $100 order costs $109.00, and a $1,000 order costs $1,055. Sales tax, VAT or GST is added on top by billing location, and Pro plans are listed "plus applicable taxes". [2] [4]

Extras and tips are the hidden line. Each one is billed as its own payment with its own fee, so a $20 add-on costs $4.60 on top, 23% of the add-on. Agree the full scope before you order. [2]

Running an order without losing control

Write the brief before you order. Requirements must be in within 14 days, or the order cancels itself. Once the work is delivered, you have 3 days to accept it or ask for changes, and the order completes on its own if you do nothing. [6] [7]

Ask for revisions through the order page, not in chat. A revision request moves the order to In Revision and stops the clock until redelivery. Milestones give each stage its own 8-day review, up to 5 per gig order. [8] [9]

For a longer or fixed-scope project, a custom offer lets you set the price and delivery between $5 and $20,000 and 1 to 90 days. The seller can withdraw before you accept or the offer expires. [10]

Protecting payments and refunds

A cancelled order refunds to your Fiverr balance first; you have to ask for the money to go back to your card. Card refunds usually arrive in about 10 days. [11] [12]

Never pay outside Fiverr. The most expensive buyer losses reported involve payment moved to WhatsApp or PayPal, where Fiverr cannot step in. One buyer reported paying $1,000 over WhatsApp, after which the freelancer stopped replying. [13] [14]

Filing a bank dispute after delivery breaks Fiverr's Payment Terms and can get the seller's account disabled. Use Fiverr's cancellation route first. [12]

Checking the work and the seller

Most sellers sit near five stars, so ratings tell you little and cancelled orders cannot be reviewed. Read the reviews of jobs like yours, and ask the seller one specific question before you order. [15] [17]

If your work requires no AI, write "no AI" in the requirements. Otherwise sellers may use AI, and buyers have complained about AI-made work they did not expect. [18] [13]

When Fiverr is the wrong buyer tool

Fiverr fits a fixed-scope service that can be described in a sentence: a logo, a short edit or a file conversion. It fits poorly when the work is ongoing or needs one specific expert over months. Complex projects appear more often in buyer complaints than simple ones. [15] [16]

Should your business buy on Fiverr?

Yes, for small, clearly scoped work where a $109 price for a $100 job is an acceptable cost. No, for anything that needs a contract, a long relationship or a guaranteed outcome. Fiverr protects the payment, but it does not guarantee the result.
