Startup hiring and jobs · Features guide
Weekly saved-search alerts are the feature job seekers should use, and the visa setting is worth filling in even though Wellfound does not explain its effect. For employers, Recruit Pro is worth it only for a weekly search at $499 a seat. Curated and Reach are paid shortcuts with thin evidence behind them. [1] [2] [4] [8]

Saved searches send daily or weekly email alerts for the jobs that match. Some reviewers praise frequent alerts, and another says they are excessive. A September 2026 reviewer says some alerts cannot be turned off. [1] [15]
Verdict: use weekly alerts for one or two saved searches. Daily alerts are for an active search where you'd apply the same day, and a stream of listings you won't read is noise. [1]
Your profile has work-authorization and sponsorship settings. One reviewer praises a Canada work-permit filter, and a January 2026 Hacker News post praises a sponsorship checkbox. The help article does not say how the setting changes which jobs you see or how recruiters see it. [2] [14]
Verdict: fill it in, then run two or three searches with and without it to see what changes. Don't assume it screens out roles that won't sponsor you. [2]
Some listings show a “Wellfound Est.” salary, calculated from comparable listings. Wellfound publishes no sample size for the estimate, so a figure can be far from what the employer will pay. [3]
Verdict: use the estimate to set a rough floor, then ask for the employer's range in writing before you accept an interview. [3]
Recruit Pro gives recruiters candidate search by timezone, location, skills, years of experience and education, with résumés, social links and bulk accept or reject. It also lets you stop applications from expiring. It costs $499 per seat a month, billed upfront and renewed automatically. [4] [5]
Recruit Pro's help article says recruiters see a candidate's desired salary, but the desired-salary help page doesn't say whether it works as a filter, so test it before you rely on it. [4] [6]
Verdict: a seat is worth it when you search every week for a role you can't fill from listings. One seat for a year is $5,988, and two are $11,976. For a single hire every few months, a free listing costs nothing to try first; the pricing page sets out the alternatives. [4] [7]
Curated provides vetted candidates in US software, product, data, design and sales, and its lists refresh twice a week. Its help article claims “3X the rate”, but gives no sample or baseline for that figure. The fee is $499 a seat a month plus 20% of the hired candidate's base salary. [8] [7]
Reach is AI sourcing for recruiters: it returns ranked candidates and builds company lists from web and profile data. Its outreach syncs with Gmail only. It starts at $135 a seat a month on the pricing page, and free access to its MCP assistant ended on 1 October 2026. [11] [13] [12]
Verdict: Curated only makes sense for a hard role where you'd accept a $30,000 fee on a $150,000 hire to skip the search yourself. Reach is for a team that already sends outreach through Gmail every week. [7] [11]
The AI video interview is in beta. It takes under 15 minutes, needs no scheduling, and gets a human review. Firefox is not supported, and Wellfound publishes no data on how results affect hiring. [9]
The applicant tracking system is listed as free on every plan on the pricing page, but its integrations appear under Growth and Scale. Confirm which plan includes the ATS you use before you sign up for it. [13] [10]
