A Wellfound posting is free, but a listing without a salary range gets limited reach. Recruit Pro is $499 a seat a month, Curated adds 20% of the hire's base salary, and paid plans renew unless cancelled. Post free first, and pay for a seat only if you'll search candidates every week. | No salary range | Limited distribution unless promoted[2] |
| Promoted Jobs | Monthly budget you set; price depends on the posting[2] |
| Recruit Pro | $499 per seat a month; $5,988 a seat for a year[3] |
| Curated | $499 a seat plus 20% of base salary: $30,000 on a $150,000 hire[4] |
| Autopilot | Contact sales; 10% placement fee on a successful hire[9] |
| Renewals | Recruit Pro and promoted plans renew unless an Admin cancels[6] |
| Refunds | Terms conflict: seven days (2020) against non-refundable (2019, 2021)[11] [12] |
| ATS | Free on every plan per the pricing page; also listed under Growth and Scale[1] [7] |
The pricing page says posting is $0 forever, with unlimited listings. A listing with no salary range gets limited distribution unless you promote it, so the free post reaches fewer people than one with a range. Add the range before you pay for anything else. [1] [2]
Promoted Jobs is a monthly subscription with a budget you set. It shows an estimated reach before you pay, and the price depends on the posting. Bulk discounts apply to three or more listings, but Wellfound does not state the percentage. [2]
Recruit Pro is $499 per seat a month, which comes to $5,988 a seat for a year. It gives you candidate search by location, skills and experience, with résumés and bulk accept or reject. Curated costs the same $499 a seat and adds 20% of the hired candidate's base salary: $30,000 on a $150,000 hire, or $40,000 on $200,000. [3] [4]
Autopilot is a dedicated recruiter who delivers 5 to 10 candidates a week, plus a 10% placement fee on a successful hire. Wellfound's blog says contact sales, and the 10% has no stated base. As an example only, if Autopilot cost $500 a month, 10 candidates a week would come to $12.50 each before the fee. [9]
Recruit Pro and promoted subscriptions bill upfront each month and renew unless an Admin cancels. Cancelling stops renewal, but the plan runs to its end date, and the articles don't state proration or refunds. [6]
The refund rules conflict. The 2020 General Terms allow a request within seven days of payment, while the 2019 Jobs Terms and 2021 Source Terms call promoted and subscription fees non-refundable. Ask which terms apply before your first charge. [11] [12]
A small startup on Trustpilot says its job ads renewed without a clear warning and it got a credit only (May 2023). Another employer says paid listing content disappeared for weeks in March 2025. These are single accounts, so use them as a checklist, not a rate. [14] [13]
Month one: post a role with a salary range and check the ATS. The pricing page says an ATS is free on every plan, and it also lists ATS integration under Growth and Scale. Confirm which plan includes yours. [2] [1] [7]
Month two: count the applicants who meet your must-haves after two weeks. Message a strong candidate directly if you need to, knowing that the candidate has to accept the chat before you can talk. [8]
Month three: decide on a paid tool only if the free listing is not producing candidates, and set the renewal date in your calendar before you buy anything. [6]
Recruit Pro fits a team that searches every week. Curated fits one hard role in US software, product, data, design or sales, where a 20% fee is the price of skipping the search. Wellfound says Curated's lists refresh twice a week, but its “3X the rate” claim has no sample or baseline. [3] [4] [5]
Reach starts at $135 a seat a month on the pricing page read on 2 November 2026, and its outreach syncs with Gmail only. Its free MCP access ended on 1 October 2026, and no later price was published. [1] [10]
Fake applicants are a dispute in the reviews. One employer says they flooded its posts, while a founder in March 2026 says the site bans fake accounts. Wellfound publishes no fraud rate, so check each applicant's profile before you interview. [15] [16]
One employer reviewer says the account was suspended after WhatsApp interviews (May 2026), and the review shows no reply from Wellfound. Keep a copy of every listing, invoice and renewal email in case you need to appeal. [16]
Post free first, with a salary range. Pay for a seat only when you'll search candidates every week, and use Curated only for a hard role where a 20% fee is an acceptable price. Cancel before each renewal date, and check which refund terms apply before you pay. The full arithmetic is on the pricing page. [1] [3] [4] [6]
