XING Guides Worth Reading

Start with the karrierebibel profile guide, a German career article that does not sell a product. The settings guide dates from 2022, so compare its menu names with your own screen. The video entries are titles and channels only, so treat them as leads to watch. [1] [3]

For your profile, karrierebibel gives the most usable steps

The karrierebibel guide (German) goes through the profile one field at a time: photo, Visitenkarte (business card), Jobwünsche (job wishes), work history and skills. It was updated on 2 February 2026. Its most useful point for someone who is still employed is that you can hide your job search from your current employer. [1]

The article says the paid Premium account is mainly for professionals and recruiters, and it gives no prices. Read the XING pricing breakdown before you pay for any feature the guide mentions. [1]

OnlineLebenslauf has the best checklist, and the most sales links

The OnlineLebenslauf guide (German) is the most recent on this list, updated on 26 October 2026. It gives a headline formula of job title, two hard skills and location, plus advice on 'Ich biete' (I offer) and 'Ich suche' (I am looking for). It also covers photo framing and the job-title wording that recruiters search for. [2]

The article carries about 20 to 25 links to the publisher's own CV editor, AI tools and templates, and it prices none of them. Use the checklist and ignore the links. [2]

For job-search settings, Tillmann's walkthrough is the one to follow, with a 2022 caveat

The Tillmann Consulting guide (German) walks through the 'Job-Wünsche' section and the Sichtbarkeit (visibility) tab. It lists three status options, from 'aktiv auf Jobsuche' to 'ich möchte keine Angebote erhalten', and three visibility options, from 'Nur Recruiter' to 'Alle Xing-Mitglieder'. It also explains saved searches (Suchauftrag) and alert frequency. The article says these settings work on a free profile. [3]

It was published in October 2022, so menu names may have changed. Compare each option with your own screen before you switch it. The firm sells CV, profile and career services, so read its menu walkthrough as a guide to options, not a pitch. [3]

Workwise is the one guide here that covers deleting a profile, and it sells job services

The Workwise guide (German) covers creating, optimising and deleting a profile. Its concrete tips are a half-portrait photo, a setting for who can see your Jobwünsche, and keyword-rich phrases in 'Ich suche'. It was first published in June 2021 and updated on 27 January 2026. [4]

Workwise promotes its own job search and employer services, and it mentions XING Premium as a paid upgrade without prices. Use the deletion steps, and get Premium prices from XING's own pricing. [4]

For recruiters, Pin explains XING in English, from a software seller

Pin's guide is in English and was published on 24 February 2026, with an update on 4 October 2026. It is written for recruiters hiring in Europe, and it covers the XING TalentManager product. It is free to read. [5]

Pin sells recruiting software that competes with the products it describes. The TalentManager prices it quotes, from EUR 366 and EUR 474 a month, are attributed to a review site, OMR Reviews. Confirm them with XING before you budget. [5]

The videos are leads, not endorsed guides

This list gives only the title and channel for each video. The German So geht Online video is titled 'Xing Profil optimieren I - Xing optimal nutzen - Wichtige Einstellungen - Anleitung', and promises the important settings. The German YouTube video is titled 'Lebenslauf.com und XING für die Jobsuche nutzen', so expect the lebenslauf.com CV tool to come up. [6] [7]

Two English videos from DiziSight have XING profile and job-search titles: How to Build Your XING Profile | Step-by-Step Guide 2026 and How to Search for Jobs on XING | 2026 Step-by-Step Guide. Watch the first for profile setup and the second for job search. [8] [9]
