How XING Works

Premium renews for a full term unless you cancel, so the notice date matters more than the monthly price. Guides say three weeks before the term ends, one review says 14 days, and XING's 2025 reply says the last day works. Act on the earliest date, and finish every online step, including the identification email. [1] [2]

The notice date is the mechanic that costs money

Premium renews for a full term unless you cancel at least three weeks before the term ends, and a missed deadline means the next term is charged. Guides from 2016 to 2026 agree on that rule, and reviewers from 2020 and 2021 use it too. One review from January 2025 says 14 days, and XING's 2025 reply on Trustpilot says cancellation works until the last day of the term. [1] [2]

Act on the earliest date. Three weeks is the strictest of these readings, so a cancellation sent 21 days before the term ends works under all of them. Do not plan around the last day. [1] [4]

The online steps, and the two that get missed

Request cancellation on XING's cancellation page and give a reason. Then click the link in the identification email, and only after that press “Kündigung erklären”. Heise (October 2021) and Verbraucherschutz (2021) both describe this two-step process, and Verbraucherzentrale NRW reported that an unclicked email led to billing. [4] [5]

The two steps people miss are the email click and the ProJobs add-on. ProJobs is cancelled separately, so cancelling Premium alone can leave it running. [4] [6]

If the online flow fails, cancel in writing

A letter, email or fax works. Include your name, address, customer number and contract number, keep proof of sending, and ask XING for confirmation if none arrives. [5]

Premium bought through the App Store or Google Play is cancelled in that store, up to 24 hours before the period ends. That detail comes from a single 2016 guide, and the store's terms may have changed since. [1]

Deleting the profile is the last step, not the first

After you cancel Premium, your profile stays on Basic. To leave XING, cancel paid add-ons first, then delete the profile under Settings > Account. Deleting the profile alone does not end add-on billing. [7]

Recruiters: the clock runs on the ad and the contract

A single job ad must be published within 60 days of purchase. With three or more ads, the publishing window is 12 months, and an expired ad can be renewed in one click. Job title and industry cannot be changed once the ad is published (Personalturm, November 2026). [8]

Partner reach is disputed: OnApply says the ad reaches 200 or more partner sites, while HRM Consulting says partner syndication runs for 30 days. For TalentManager, Sprad says the minimum term is one to two years, and Suitapp (October 2026) describes 12 months paid in advance, with notice due three months before the term ends. Ask for the notice date in writing. [9] [10] [11] [12]

Where people get stuck

Three steps cost money when people skip them: the identification email, a ProJobs add-on that keeps billing, and the notice date. Unsubscribing is a separate problem: at least 10 reviewers say it needs a sign-in or a phone call. [4] [6] [3]
