XING Features

Three XING features deserve a close look: the free Basic profile and job search, Premium messaging if you need people outside your network, and the AI job search, which some reviewers found useful. Recruiter tools cost 366 EUR a seat a month or 899 EUR net per ad, and vendors disagree about how good the AI is. [1] [12] [13]

Messaging is the feature Premium really sells

Premium's visible extras are a weak case on their own. Reviewers say free users lost profile-viewer visibility and cover-letter features, and three say a basic feature moved behind Premium. The 2026 list adds a résumé generator, job-wish preferences that feed AI recommendations, profile tips and extended visit statistics. [5] [4]

Messaging is the part that matters. Basic members can message only existing contacts and send connection requests without a note. Premium messages any member and adds a note to the request. It also shows who viewed your profile, where Basic shows only that someone did. [3] [4]

Use job search, and check each listing before you apply

Full job listings have been visible to logged-out visitors since July 2024, and job search is now XING's main function. The weak point is quality: reviewers from 2025 and 2026 say listings are stale, duplicated or already filled, and that the location filter is ignored. [2] [6]

The AI job search splits reviewers

Some reviewers found the 2025 AI job search useful, and about four people said so on one German page. Others say its swipe-style feature looks like a dating app. Run it for a week on your own search, and judge it by the listings it actually shows you. [7]

TalentManager's feature list is long, but its quality is disputed

OMR lists TalentManager Core features that include candidate search and filters, AI recommendations, project-based search, interview video calls and statistics. Pro adds custom, team and smart pools, a candidate database that includes non-XING members, and recruitment campaigns. Pin says AI recommendations improve over time. [9] [10]

Sprad, a competing vendor, says TalentManager uses keyword filters, offers minimal AI matching, limits export to public profile fields and reaches candidates only within XING. The two vendors disagree, so test one role before you buy a team of seats. [12] [10]

Pin says TalentManager is strong for engineering, manufacturing, healthcare, automotive and German-speaking candidates, and weaker for tech and international roles. That is a vendor view with no sample behind it. [10]

If you need a few candidates rather than a seat, tell Omnitwine's AI the role you are hiring for, and it connects you with members who fit, for free. Both of you decide whether to connect. It does not verify identity or skills, and who you meet depends on who has joined. [17] [16]

A job ad works for one role, once you know the net price

A job ad includes partner distribution, AI support, visitor insights, five direct invitations and one-click apply. It costs 899 EUR net for 60 days, plus VAT. Partner reach is disputed: OnApply says the ad reaches 200 or more partner sites, while HRM Consulting says partner syndication runs for 30 days. [13] [14]

ProJobs promised recruiter visibility in 2014, and recent returns look weak

At its 2014 launch, ProJobs promised recruiter visibility and a setting to hide your details from chosen people. That setting does not stop an employer seeing your profile. Reviewers in 2025 say a three-month booking produced almost no profile views. [15] [8]
