Common questions

Is CoffeeSpace free, and what does it cost?

Creating a profile, matching and chatting is free, according to CoffeeSpace's homepage. Premium Class costs $24.99 a month on the App Store and Business Class costs $49.99 a month, and the paid tiers add filters. [3] [1]

Can I get a refund or cancel my subscription?

Not from CoffeeSpace. Its Terms contain no refund or cancellation clause, so App Store refunds follow Apple's process. Subscriptions also renew automatically unless you turn them off at least 24 hours before the period ends. [1] [4]

Does CoffeeSpace charge companies to hire?

CoffeeSpace publishes no price for startup hiring, recruiter tools or CoffeeSpace AI, so you cannot tell what it charges until you ask. The homepage offers 'Start hiring' and 'Book a call', and CoffeeSpace AI offers 'Book a call' and 'Book a demo'. [3] [6]

Is the talent network live?

No, not for most people. The company's October 2026 post says the network is invite-only while in beta, after its June 2026 update promised it would go live 'in the next couple of weeks'. [8] [7]

How many users and matches does CoffeeSpace have?

The June 2026 update says 30,000+ mobile users, 65,000 matches and 2.5 million swipes. Other company pages give different user counts, and none defines 'user' or 'active', so treat the figures as unaudited claims. [7] [3]

Who runs CoffeeSpace, and is it legitimate?

The App Store lists the developer as Counselab, Inc., and the Terms say it also trades as CofounderMatch and Cofounder Search. No source gives a founding year, headquarters or team size, so the store listing and the Terms are the only checkable record. [1] [4]

What data does it collect, and does it share it?

The Google Play declaration lists data types that include emails, phone number, approximate location and device IDs, and says it is not shared with third parties. The privacy policy names service providers for hosting, analytics, support and messaging, but no AI model provider. [2] [5]

Is my data encrypted in transit?

The Google Play declaration says it is not encrypted in transit, and the privacy policy does not address transit encryption. Ask the company in writing before you upload a résumé. [2] [5]

How do I delete my data, and how long is it kept?

Google Play says deletion can be requested, but the policy gives no steps and no number of days. Data is kept 'for as long as' the account exists and 'a reasonable period' after deletion. [2] [5]

Does it use my LinkedIn data?

Yes. TechCrunch reported in November 2024 that profiles combine public LinkedIn data with what users enter, such as location and the cofounder they seek. [9]

How long until a first match or candidate?

The company claims 72 hours to a first match for talent, 24 hours to a first candidate for startups, and a median of 3 matches in week one for founders. None of these has a stated period or sample. [3] [8]

Are there fake profiles?

No review, forum thread or company page reports fake profiles on CoffeeSpace. Two Hacker News threads, from 2025 and 2026, describe suspected fake profiles on Y Combinator's cofounder matching, a different service. [10] [11]
