Paid mentorship marketplace · How it works guide
MentorCruise starts billing when a 7-day trial ends unless you cancel first. Mentees connect an account with a six-digit code before booking, and a refund for a silent mentor needs two follow-ups and more than a week of silence. [1] [8] [3]

The key mechanic is the trial. Most mentors offer 7 days. Payment details are entered when the mentor accepts, and that is when the chat opens. If you do nothing, billing starts automatically when the trial ends. Cancel before then and nothing is billed. [1]
The homepage says “Try your first call for free with every mentor you're meeting.” That describes a different first step from the trial article, so the checkout screen decides what you pay. [2] [1]
Start by searching. Search needs no sign-in. The AI-agent tools ask two or three questions and return up to three matches. To apply, message or book, connect your account with the six-digit code, which you enter in the browser rather than in the chat. [3] [4]
Once the mentor accepts, you enter payment details, the chat opens, and the trial starts. Matching can take time, and the company says mentors should know your goal and background before they accept, so state both in your first message. [5]
After the trial, pause if you need a break. A pause needs a resume day, and it isn't allowed if you already paused in the same billing cycle, if the trial hasn't passed, or if your latest payment is overdue. End when you're finished: it closes the chat and stops recurring payments at once. [6] [7]
The clock here is yours to run. Send two follow-ups, then wait more than a week. Keep written proof that the mentor agrees with the request. Under the May 2026 policy, that is the route. The 2023 article promised refunds with no threshold, so ask support in writing which version applies. [8] [9]
Mentors get the admin: scheduling, in-app payments and communication, plus some client sourcing. Three of the 108 Trustpilot reviews, from 2023 to 2025, say so. At the card rates in the payout article, a $100 rate leaves the mentor $95.50 to $96.22. [5] [10]
When a mentor ends a mentorship, the policy asks the mentor for a partial or full refund, but doesn't state the amount. [7]
Three steps trip people. The first is the free-call wording, which conflicts with the trial. The second is the connect step, since booking and payment won't go ahead without it. The third is the refund clock: two follow-ups, more than a week of silence, and written proof. One August 2026 reviewer also reports about 8 hours of setup with little support help.
