XING Complaints

Most XING complaints are about money: renewals you did not expect, cancellations that are hard to finish, and collection letters after disputed invoices. Renewal is the one to act on first. Send your cancellation at least 21 days before the term ends, click the identification email, and keep the confirmation. [8] [9] [1]

Billing complaints lead, and recent pages add spam and account trouble

On one 24-review Trustpilot page from January 2018 to March 2019, 19 reviews are flagged for billing, subscription, cancellation or debt collection. On a German page from February 2025 to October 2026, the leading mentions are spam (6 of 24), cancellation (5), subscription (4) and account problems (4). Billing fell to 2 of 24. [1] [2]

Renewals carry the biggest bills, and a notice date prevents them

At least 15 reviewers describe a renewal they did not expect. In one case netz-trends reported in 2021, a renewal rose from about 80 EUR to more than 300 EUR. Premium renews for a full term unless you cancel at least three weeks before the term ends, and guides from 2016 to 2026 use that rule. [1] [7] [8]

What to do: set the notice date when you start, cancel at least 21 days before the term ends, and keep the confirmation. Guides and reviews also cite 14 days and the last day of the term, so do not rely on either.

Cancelling takes more steps than the price suggests

Online cancellation means requesting it, giving a reason, clicking the link in an identification email, and pressing “Kündigung erklären” (heise, October 2021). Verbraucherzentrale NRW reported that an unclicked email led to continued billing. [9] [10]

At least 6 reviewers describe a cancel link that was hard to find, a ten-step process (December 2020), or no visible way to cancel (June 2023). [3]

Cancelling by letter, email or fax also works. Include your name, address, customer number and contract number, keep proof of sending, and ask XING for confirmation if none arrives. [10]

What to do: finish the whole online flow in one sitting, click the identification email right away, and send a written cancellation if the online step fails.

Collection letters follow disputed invoices

At least 8 reviewers from 2018 to 2025 mention collectors or lawyers after they disputed a Premium invoice. XING's replies dispute some of those claims, and Trustpilot does not check the reviews. [1]

What to do: dispute an invoice in writing as soon as it arrives, and keep a copy of every message you send.

Unsubscribing and locked accounts are the recent complaints

At least 10 reviewers say unsubscribing from newsletters or notices often fails, and some need a sign-in or a phone call. One review from January 2025 raises a GDPR complaint over it. [4]

At least 4 accounts were locked or frozen between 2020 and October 2026 while users tried to cancel or continue. In the latest case, an appeal to XING's quality team got no reply (8 October 2026). [5]

What to do: if unsubscribing asks for a sign-in or a phone call, write to XING instead and keep a copy. If your account locks, write down the date of each contact before you escalate. The privacy page covers ID requests when you delete.

Recruiter messages and ProJobs bills are smaller problems that still cost time

At least 3 reviewers say recruiter messages kept coming after they opted out of offers, in February and October 2026. One says the messages are AI-generated. [6]

A three-month ProJobs booking produced almost no profile views in 2025 reviews, and one reviewer says a recruiting callback never came. Cancel ProJobs as a separate item from Premium. [5] [9]

What to do: keep screenshots of your opt-out settings, and book ProJobs only for a period you can measure.
